Davies Early Life And Education
Davies was born in Buduburam, a refugee camp in Ghana, to Liberian immigrant parents. He was the fourth youngest of six siblings. His parents fled Monrovia during Liberia’s second civil war, which displaced hundreds of thousands of people.
In 2005, the family moved to Canada and settled in Edmonton. At 14, Davies traveled to Vancouver alone to join the Whitecaps FC Residency program. He attended Burnaby Central Secondary School as part of that program. He was granted Canadian citizenship on June 6, 2017, after previously being a citizen of Liberia.
Davies attended St. Nicholas Catholic High School in the Edmonton Catholic School District. His school football team-mate Onesphore Hamis recalled that although football was his passion, the language posed a challenge.

Davies began having an affair with Jordyn Huitema, a goalkeeper for Paris Saint-Germain and the Canadian national team, in September 2017. In September 2019, he was fined €20,000 because of it missed Bayern’s training session as he visited Huitema in Paris.

Joining the Vancouver Whitecaps FC during their 2016 MLS preseason tour, Davies officially signed with Whitecaps FC 2 of the USL on February 23, 2016. His signing was a milestone as he became the youngest player ever to belong to the USL sign the contract, only 15 years and 3 months.
Making his debut for Whitecaps FC 2 in August 2016, Davies was only 15 years and 5 months old at the time. In one of his most impressive feats, on May 15, 2016, he won his first professional title, setting a record as the youngest goalkeeper in the USL in history, achieving the feat at 15 years and 6 months. Davies continued to impress, scoring two goals in 11 games during the 2016 season.
Vancouver Whitecaps FC
Davies initially joined the Whitecaps in 2016 as a Canadian on a short-term deal. He made his debut on June 1 against Ottawa Fury FC and started the following season in Vancouver. Later in July 2016, Davies signed a contract until 2018 with options for 2019 and 2020.
He became the youngest professional player to play Major League Soccer at the time. Davies made his MLS debut on July 16, 2016, making his CONCACAF debut in September of that year.
