Tope Adebayo was born on June 28, 1975, in Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria. He graduated as the top student from the Faculty of Law at the University of Ado-Ekiti, where he also served as the President of the Students’ Union. He then pursued his LLM at the University of Lagos, again graduating as the best student. In 2008, he was awarded the Hoponu Wusu prize for the best graduating LLM student at the University of Lagos. Tope is a registered capital market consultant with the Securities and Exchange Commission and provides expert management guidance in his firm’s operations.

Tope Adebayo started his legal career at the prominent commercial law firm Olaniwun Ajayi, gaining expertise in litigation, receivership, arbitration, and project and corporate finance. He later joined Afe Babalola & Co, further enhancing his experience in litigation and arbitration.
He has been involved in numerous high-profile cases in banking, finance, corporate, and commercial law, including those in superior courts like the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court. Tope Adebayo has represented and opposed multinational corporations such as Shell BP, Chevron, Mobil, and Pan Ocean Nigeria Ltd, particularly in disputes related to telecommunications.
Notably, he was part of the legal team in the case of UBA v. BTL at Afe Babalola, which resulted in the highest damages awarded against a bank for negligent handling of client transactions in recent history.
