Natasha Akpoti Early Life
Natasha Akpoti was born to Dr. Jimoh Abdul Akpoti, a Nigerian, and Ludmila Kravchenko, a Ukrainian, on December 9, 1979. She is originally from Obeiba-Ihima in Kogi State and belongs to the Ebira ethnic group. Her father was a respected figure in their community.
She is the second of four children and grew up in Ihima within Okene Local Government Area. Following her father’s passing in 1998, her family relocated to another part of the country.

Natasha Akpoti received her early education in prestigious private schools in Kogi State, earning her First School Leaving Certificate and WAEC certification. She pursued a Law degree at the University of Abuja in 2000 and graduated in 2004 with a B.L.
Afterward, she attended the Nigerian Law School in Abuja and was called to the Bar in 2005. She went on to earn a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree from the University of Dundee in 2012, along with an MBA in Oil and Gas Management from the same institution.

In March 2018, she gained national attention when she presented a detailed investigative report to the National Assembly, exposing corruption and mismanagement at the Ajaokuta Steel Mill.
Later that year, she contested for the Kogi Central Senatorial seat under the SDP but was defeated by the APC candidate. In 2019, she ran for the governorship of Kogi State on the same party’s platform but lost to APC’s Yahaya Bello.
