Born on April 14, 1984, in Warri, Delta State, Jephthah Bowoto, known as Akpororo, hails from Ilaje in Ondo State. Despite his Ondo roots, he spent his formative years in Warri, raised by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oluwatosin Tanimola. From a young age, Akpororo displayed a natural flair for comedy, entertaining friends and family with his humor.
In 2008, he officially embarked on his comedy career by participating in the National Comedy Challenge organized by Opa Williams. Although he triumphed in the Calabar zone, he did not win the national title. Akpororo grew up alongside his siblings, Joseph Bowoto and Patience Bowoto, and received his primary and secondary education in Warri. After high school, he ventured into gospel music, marking the beginning of his professional journey.

Akpororo’s entertainment career started in 2008 when he explored gospel music. He soon showcased his comedic talent by competing in the National Comedy Challenge, where he emerged as the winner of the Calabar chapter. In 2009, he moved to Lagos to pursue greater opportunities. His persistence led him to participate in AY’s Open Mic Challenge twice, eventually winning the competition on his second attempt.
Expanding his repertoire, Akpororo has starred in films like Head Gone and The Antique while also making a mark in music with hits such as Days of Elijah and Thank Am o. His ability to excel across multiple domains continues to captivate audiences worldwide.
Akpororo Personal Life, Wife and Children
Akpororo is a devoted family man and a devout Christian whose faith influences his life and decisions. He is married to Josephine Ijeoma Abraham, and together they have three children. Their first child, Praise Bowoto Ayokumin, was born on August 30, 2016, followed by twins, a boy and a girl, on April 15, 2018.
